I DON'T REMEMBER

A TIME BEFORE

KNOWING.

Some of my earliest memories are not of learning about intuition, but of simply living within it.

A woman with blond hair tied in a bun, wearing a sleeveless knitted top and striped pants, standing against a plain wall, looking at the camera, with a tattoo on her foot.

As a child, I found peace beneath the trees and an understanding with animals that required very little language. I knew things before I understood how I knew them. For a long time, I assumed everyone experienced the world this way.

I grew up with two creative parents in a home where nature and imagination were given room. There were vegetable gardens and chickens, natural remedies and homeopathy, conversations about ley lines, the solstice and the old traditions of my father's English heritage.

None of this was presented to me as a philosophy.

It was simply the world I grew up in.

Later, years spent living between Australia, Bali and Japan exposed me to cultures in which ritual, ancestry, energy and the unseen could exist alongside ordinary life.

Bali became deeply entwined with my life and family. Japan led me to the study of Zen shiatsu and a different expression of reverence, energy and spirit.

Both shaped me deeply, and brought me closer to something I had known since childhood.

There is more to this world than what we can see.

Silhouette of a person standing in front of a large, ornate gateway with intricate carvings, set against a cloudy sky with the sun near the horizon.

For much of my adult life, I moved between the intuitive and the tangible.

My most public work was perhaps the most tangible. I spent more than two decades in makeup, beauty, spa and later skin practice, working closely with people through creativity, touch and the body.

Alongside it, I continued to study. Theta Healing, Reiki, energy work and other healing practices gradually became part of the way I understood the relationship between body, energy and the unseen.

There were periods when I tried very hard to be sensible.

This was the work people could see. The intuitive work was quieter, but it never really left.

Eventually, returning became harder to resist than leaving.

This practice is that return.
